Cats are basically carnivores and need meat as a basic ingredient in their diet. This has important implications for a high-quality, healthy diet for domestic cats:

The main component of their diet should be meat in high proportion. Specific nutrients found only in meat (e.g. taurine) must be included in sufficient amounts in the feed.

The concentration of nutrients in dry food is about four times higher than that of fresh food, due to dehydration. Feeding costs are significantly reduced by giving dry food. In addition, dry food gives the cat the advantage that it is freely available and thus has the ability to eat several small meals during the day, as it would under normal circumstances. Crunchy croquettes help with chewing and cleaning the teeth.

The method of feeding should be based on the cat's eating habits, so that it consumes small amounts of food during the day.
